 Phoenix
is a five-piece band comprising Caller, Melodeon, Electric Guitar,
Electric Bass and Drums. We play English country-dance music with an
underlying rock rhythm.
We are happy playing for
beginners or experts alike, or those somewhere in between. Our aim is to
ensure that everyone goes away having had a really good time.
Whilst we primarily perform
in Devon we are more than happy to go further afield.

RUMPUS
Rumpus are a South Dev on
based country dance band. We play traditional and contemporary music from
the British Isles, and beyond, on melodeon, fiddle (acoustic and
electric), concertina and guitar. The band includes an experienced caller
to teach the dances. Guest musicians are often available (electric or
double bass, flute, bodhran). We use our own good quality PA system.
Rumpus is the ideal band for weddings, functions
conferences, community events, indeed any celebration.

The
d'Accord House Band
The d'Accord
House Band is a 4 piece band ( although extra musicians may join us
occasionally) consisting of a Melodeon player doubling on Flute &
Bombarde, a Bagpipe player doubling on Mandola, Mandolin &
percussion, a Cittern player and a Bass Guitarist doubling on
Mandolin.
The music the band
play is mainly French and Breton traditional dance music although we have
recently brached out and added some Cornish music to our repertoire.
Formed to provide live
music at the d'Accord French/ Breton dance club held monthly at the Phoenix
Arts Centre in Exeter the band is now performing at other venues,
regularly at the Harbertonford French/ Breton dance club and recently at the
Pentrefest celtic Festival in Pembroke where our repertoire also included
some traditional Cornish dance music.
French and dance is a
mixture or lively circle and set dances such as Bourees and An Dros and more
romantic couple dances such as Mazurkas, Waltzes and Schottiches and is
tremendous fun. The music ranges from the hypnotic to the raucus with
beautiful and unusual melodies that will leave you gasping!
An ideal band for all
sorts of functions such as weddings, community events, festivals,
parties.

PALLOY!
Jewish music and
dance
OY PALLOY consists of 4 musicians (Violin,Flute,Guitar and Bass)
playing music inspired by traditional East European Klezmer music.
Klezmer music has its
roots in Arab and Turkish songs and Romanian Horas, Hungarian Gypsy, Jazz,
and incorporates elements of Jewish sacred music. It remains popular to this
day for weddings and barmitzvahs and has beed dubbed 'Jewish Soul Music'.
OY PALLOY can
provide music for listening and teach simple dances for which participants
need no previous experience.
OY PALLOY are
available anywhere in the UK and beyond for weddings, barmitzvahs,
festivals
and community events, parties and for dance and music workshops at schools
etc.

Brew Country Dance Band
Over twenty years experience at playing for all kinds of events in Devon
& neighbouring counties - village hops, weddings, birthdays, dance
clubs, schools, etc. Full line up consists of fiddle, accordion, bass,
