Wassails songs, Morris dancing, Mummers play, storytelling. “Come and
celebrate a centuries old tradition in Stoke Gabriel's community orchard,
where locals will be re-enacting the customs of old Twelfth Night. Enjoy a
barbeque supper and apple cake under the stars, then see the wassail queen
enact the ceremony of wassailing the old apple trees to the tunes of
Morris dancing and singing in the orchard. Warm up in the pub, with
storytelling late into the night. Meet outside the Victoria and Albert
Inn, Stoke Gabriel at 6pm (for the barbeque). Bring a torch and wrap
up warmly.” Adults £2, children £1, families £5. |
