- thoughts on a new session!
A couple
of us have been thinking about starting a new session and I’d like to
sound out your thoughts. The idea is a 2nd and 4th
Friday evening or 2nd and 4th Sunday lunch time
predominantly English session, with an emphasis on ‘all muck in’
lively tunes and rollicking traditional chorus songs. Ideally in a
nice friendly pub with a supportive landlord.
The probable location is between Newton Abbot and Totnes or Newton Abbot
and the south side of
Exeter
, perhaps close to the A38, but that depends upon who is likely to play as
opposed to those merely expressing interest!

The Rich are an experienced and versatile folk-rock band with a unique
sound and a wealth of original and traditional material, as well as a few
rousing cover versions. We are a four piece consisting of guitar,
fiddle/mandolin, drums/harmonica and bass and vocals x 3. We have had some
success in getting work (see the events list) but we all have busy day
jobs as well as the band. We are looking to bring on board a manager who
would be a "fifth" member of the band and share the spoils
accordingly on an equal basis. We have our own PA and backline and some
publicity material.
We are looking for an
enthusiastic and dynamic individual who possesses a thick skin to contact
festivals and venues and try and get us more work. Who knows - maybe even
record companies! The sky's the limit as they say!
