Shape Note Singing in Ipplepen

Shape note singing is an American Choral tradition of unaccompanied singing in four part harmony.
We will sing from The Sacred Harp which has been in continuous use since 1844, and a newly compiled collection called the Shenandoah Harmony which contains an extensive collection of early American hymns.

We are not a traditional choir with no membership or performances. We sing for the joy of the experience rather than for the appraisal of an audience.

We are holding the singings on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the first being on the 26 February at:

Methodist Church
