Swain's Gold are based in Plympton, Devon, and play traditional dance music for barn dances, ceilidhs, weddings and all kinds of celebrations in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. We also give concert performances for non-dance venues. Our instruments are many and varied, but usually will include accordion, guitars, five-string banjo, whistles, recorders, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki and percussion.
Caroline, our caller, has extensive dance experience, and will look after you whether you are are an expert or a newcomer to traditional dance.
Our sound engineer uses an excellent PA system, which includes a CD player for your choice of music during the break, and we have an extensive range of incidental music to keep you and your guests entertained between dances if your feet need a rest!
NEW! We now have stage backdrop lighting available (at no extra charge), which is suitable for most venues.
We will have a great time playing for you, and we will do our very best to make sure that you enjoy yourselves too.
