MAD RUSH

Warm, expressive trad. folk, blues, country and original songs and tunes.
Ned Couch was lead guitarist in a pop, rock and heavy metal band before coming to folk three years ago. Guitars are his main love, he admits to having a 'bit of a collection', but he also fiddles around on banjo and mandolin. Influences are mainly Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore and Mark Knopfler but since embracing folk he has made a promising start at songwriting, and has his own definite style.

Den Couch has been performing since the age of eight in clubs and pubs around the Westcountry and ran the course of pop & folk in the late 60's, rock & folk in the 70's and disco-pop in the 80's, going further afield and touring Europe. Singing and playing piano and accordian, she now indulges her deep love of traditional music. She also gives musical workshops for adults, has run 10-week courses on Victorian Music Hall performance and co-organises and accompanies Shoestring, a 12-piece company of performers. A freelance writer and journalist, she has only recently come to songwriting, and contributes several songs to the new album.
