Jocisity are a four piece Ceilidh band from the Plymouth area which was formed in 2002 from the now defunct Ethnic Bedlam Country Dance Band, which ran for over 35 years around the Plymouth area.
Jocosity’s musical line up consists of Accordion, Piano and Fiddle . The band’s music comprises traditional dance music from England, Ireland, Scotland and America. Their dynamic caller, sporting his bowler hat and colourful waistcoat, will move your occasion onward in true showman style with his own brand of satirical humour and wit. Jocosity’s music being a celebration of the finest traditions in English Country Dance.
The bands name was inspired from an old Victorian dictionary, many of it’s entries no longer used today, and giving forth the definition for Jocosity as “Playfully humorous in style".
