Venues available
Totnes
Bay Horse, 8 Cistern Street, Totnes Tel. 01803 862088 Landlord Rob would welcome any suggestions or expressions of interest for people that may wish to play at the pub. He's offering a reasonable budget plus some drinks). Rob also says:
"Beyond that, I am also actively seeking to attract some folk people in on Thursday nights (not forgetting Totnes Folk Song Club, meeting every second Thursday at the Dartmouth Inn) to just play on a casual basis (similar to the previous Tuesday group that was here last year). I already have the Folk Orchestra Of Torbay (FOOT) coming in on Thursday August 20th and would be pleased to welcome in any other similar groups that would like a venue to get together and have a session (some drinks and nibbles can be supplied to musicians).
One other thing that I am also working towards is to install a piano in here, as some friends have one that they are looking to find a good home for (I have had Sam Richards play it and he says it is fine, although in need of a tune). That would be something else that I would love to have amateur or semi-professionals come in and play from time to time (I would try and restrict it to genuine players rather than it being a free for all). It should also be a help for any musicians that could include a piano or keyboard."

Exmouth
The Famous Ship on the high street in Exmouth Devon would like to offer itself as a venue for any groups, solo artists or folk sessions/ open mic days/nights. Sunday afternoon / evenings would be available and there is scope for afternoons during the week especialy during the summer period. Please contact Steve and we'll see what we can set up. Telephone 01395 264 440 or mob: 07525 212 236

Dawlish
Do you need a venue for an open mike or informal session? Sue at the Swan Inn, Dawlish is very keen to support such an event. If you are interested Please eMail eMail

Plympton St Maurice
The landlord (Pete White) of The London, Plympton St Maurice would like to have music sessions take place at his pub and has earmarked the 2nd Sunday of each month as a starting point. The first one to take place is now marked on the diary for the evening of Sunday February 8th from 8.00pm. It is to take place in the lounge and as the room is fairly ‘snug’ and is to be acoustic only. If you are interested in leading or joining the session please ring Pete on (01752) 337025

Possible session
From Jeremy Tozer - Anthony, the new landlord of the Church House Inn in Stokeinteignhead is very keen to get a regular weekly session going in the Farmer’s Bar at his pub. He says that Thursdays and Saturdays are good nights for the pub for a session.  He’s also very happy for anyone to just turn up and play at any time in the farmer’s bar if nothing else is on.  Free pint to musicians (and possibly more if the music quality is such that it attracts and holds a crowd).

If anyone is interested in being a regular there (at least initially to get something going) do let me know – personally I am keen on a session (not a ‘take it in turns’ folk club type event) happening on 2 nights a month (2nd and 4th Thursdays is my preference) with ‘planned Saturdays’ now and again - Contact Jerry- eMail eMail .
